I've been staying here for more than five years. The last few times I was here there were loud drunk guys at the check in counter, prostitutes in the lobby. The best story is from January - is the loud screams and crying coming from the room next to mine.
I banged on the wall it was midnight , called the front desk and waited. The noise continued. I worried the girl was making terrible noises, so finally I went out into the hallway and banged on their door.
They finally answered the door I speak Chinese fluently there was a guy standing there in his red underwear. Next to him was another man fully dressed; shoes, belt, etc. He was drunk, stumbling drunk. The woman was no where to be found. It was 2am. The next morning I was still upset by the situation, one of my Chinese contacts said "don't worry, they were probably filming a sex video. This is my 2nd stay in this hotel.
The welcome fruit tasted good, and the breakfast is OK. The bed is better than Ningbo Sheraton, I slept very well. It looks a little bit old and facility is not that fancy. Anyway, since the price is competitive, I may choose this one again when I come to Ningbo again. Last night checked into the Ningbo Crowne Plaza - wow what a difference! Dirty all over, from the check in desk, to halls, to room, to dining. Hotel is completely beat up, should not carry the CP name.
Overall a good hotel in the centre of Ningbo. The hotel is a bit old and tired and needs to be redone in general. But it's clean and nice with big rooms. The major problem with this hotel is the poor breakfast even for Chinese standards. By western standards it's bad, for a American chain hotel to serve breakfast like they do. That is the major drawback and the hotel has seen better days. Staff at front office and bellboys are very and kind helpfully.
